Rhye – Song For You (Music Video)

Rhye has shared a new cut from her second studio material, Blood. A few weeks after its release and to visit Mexico for the third time, the duo consisting of Mike Milosh and Robin Hannibal have released “Song For You”, his fourth single.

As usual, Milosh starts the track with the typical “you” and questions the emotional resonance. This was how he saw it in the lyric video of the song, where a naked woman appears again in black and white.

Song for You” is the fourth single after “Taste”, “Please” and “Count To Five”. All these singles will be part of Blood, album that was released on February 2, one day after they are presented at the Frontón México in the CDMX.

Skott – Stay Off My Mind (Official Video)

We won’t waste your time with another glowing account of Scandinavia’s pop skills. Suffice to say that SKOTT is from Sweden, she makes pristine pop music, and her latest EP should expose her voice to a much, much larger fan base.  Over four songs, the artist born Pauline Skött exhibits a mastery of various styles alongside longtime collaborators Agrin Rhamani, Theo Carlson, and Christian Nilsson.

They’ve known each other for some time—“The fact that I’m making music with friends, and that we know each other so well makes me think that we can be more honest with each other,” Skott tells us, “and more free and happy when we create.”

The title track is an easy standout, but every song is worth a listen. “Russian Soul” is radio-ready, “In The Mood” shows off Skott’s sultrier side, and “This Vibe” exhibits the kind of huge songwriting prowess that got our attention on her earlier tracks “Porcelain” and “Glitter & Gloss.”

“Stay Off My Mind refers to a bittersweet longing,” she continues, “or beautiful memories of someone very special. The fact that you can’t stop thinking of this person is almost driving you crazy… To me it’s about my friend that is no longer with us.” This article originally appeared in Pigeons and planes

Kendrick Lamar – LOVE. ft. Zacari

Kendrick Lamar has released a music video for “LOVE.,” featuring Zacari. The video traces the ups and downs of a relationship through a series of zoom-out shots set at the same kitchen table. It also includes images of women dressed in black posing in front of a gray Hollywood Reporter roundtable-style backdrop, in an apparent reference to recent culture-shifting cover stories. This is DAMN.‘s fifth video, following “LOYALTY.,” “ELEMENT.,” “DNA.,” “HUMBLE.” Watch it Up. This article originally appeared in Spin.

Party Favor & NJOMZA – Caskets (feat. FKi 1st) [Official Video]

Party Favor has become quite the Mad Decent hype-master the last few years, but we’re loving the soulful, more down-tempo side of his production chops he just showed off on this luscious collab with NJOMZA featuring FKi 1st. The progression is distinctly tropical without every even verging on cheesey, and lyrics are painfully authentic, “No reason to apologize, we’re all fucked up in someone’s eyes, I’ll smoke until my lungs burn, I’ll love until my heart hurts, don’t worry ’bout me I’ll be fine, I’ve coasted through most of my life, leave it in the baskets, bury all the caskets.  Review By NestHQ

Anna of the North – Someone (Official Video)

Anna of the North is a product of heartbreak, and the recovery that comes after.

Anna Lotterud was working in a shop in a small town near Oslo, Norway when an encounter with a stranger prompted her to book a flight to Australia and leave her life – and relationship – behind.

There she met Brady Daniell-Smith. Brady, who’d been struggling with his own relationships, and who encouraged her to find solace in songwriting – that collaboration became ‘Anna of the North’ – a thrilling brand of electro-pop that Norwegian artists seem to excel at.

We’re premiering the video for their track “Someone” – the band say of the song: “We think almost everyone has woken up after a big night, instantly regretting something that happened. It’s about how easy it is to break your promises when you’ve had a couple of drinks.

“Going deeper, the song is about accepting that you’re only human and to learn how to forgive yourself for your own mistakes and accepting that sometimes we need someone to save us from repeating any old habits.” Review By
