After delivering his striking song Home, talented producer SCHWARZ is now being remixed by talents as: CMC$ and Vimalavong. The result is the tender tune, featuring vivacious violins and touching chords, getting a solid treatment for the floor, with a louder drop while the vulnerable vocals remain intact. Wonderful remix!

Los Angeles artist Ella Vos has returned by sharing her most personal song to date. It’s called You Don’t Know About Me and it addresses the many issues women are currently living in the US, starting from the many decisions that many old, male legislators are taking about young women and their bodies. Musically speaking, the song is a brooding mid-tempo piece of electronic pop marked by thumping bass and finger snaps, with Ella’s heartfelt and bright voice standing out and claiming her right to decide independently on her body.
The song comes together with a statement, which you can read here: “About a year after my son was born, my mom turned to him and said, ‘We don’t want people in office who will make abortion legal, otherwise you wouldn’t be here.’ She had spoken as if we we’re back in 1972 when 70 year old male legislators were the ones making decisions about young women’s bodies. Why has nothing changed? Recently, I watched a staunch anti-abortion senator state that ‘I don’t know [why women have abortions]. I’m not a woman, I’ve never thought about it.’ I am a woman. I am a daughter. I am a mother. None of us choose the first two, but don’t we all deserve a choice with the latter? What does pro-life really mean? What about the lives of refugees, what about the lives of innocent people killed in war, what about healthcare? So I wrote a song about ignorance. About all those little comments we combat throughout the day. About choosing to replace those words with empowering statements. This is my body. About learning to be strong. About not letting anyone tell me who I should or shouldn’t be. Because you don’t know about me.” by Mattia Villa

Their remix of XYLØ’s “I Still Wait For You” is quite different — a more colorful, radio-centric take on pop, though with some excellent percussive and guitar-laden additions that add some infectiousness to the mix. Seeing as how “Time Lapse” got such a good reception, it seemed very worthwhile to post the duo’s remixing capabilities, even within a stylistically different sphere.

The remix maintains all of the stylistic hallmarks that we have come to know and love both the guys over at Cheat Codes and the eclectic Cade for. Their remix to “Pretty Girl” includes an auditorily pleasing synth arrangement, a catchy bassline and harmonious vocal chops all accompanied by Maggie’s sultry vocals.
Check out what the guys from Cheat Codes and Cade had to say about the track:
“When we first heard the song we loved the message and how catchy it was. With the remix we wanted to speed it up a little bit, add some of our our own flare, and create a version that could be played in a party & club setting.” ~ Cheat Codes
“I first heard “Pretty Girl” a couple weeks prior to receiving the remix opportunity, loved it, and was dying to put my own spin on it. Super grateful that the Cheat Codes guys let me be involved in this remix with them. It was so much fun bouncing ideas back and forth and watching it all come together.” ~ Cade

A magical rendition of Patrick Baker’s ‘Call Me Up’, this song has ‘chill’ written all over it. Conjured up by Sebastien and filled out with lingering textures and atmosphere-enhancing piano chords, it’s a remix that makes any day a whole lot less stressful.

From the initial beat it takes you on a beautiful journey, classic of true trance. The husky vocals of Ray Wilson are poetic and heart felt without being too overpowering and they set it apart from the trance pop that has strangled the genre.
The two major build-ups are strong and with execution into some body moving beats, with synths to delight your ears and a smoothness that screams from heaven. Everything about this track is uplifting, from start to finish it invokes you into a state of bliss that only good trance can give.
Side A holds the Riva mix which has a deeper, dirtier house feel to it, more mellow in comparison to Side B and with a faster acid sound coming through over the top. It moves more like a roller coaster with the breakdowns and vocals being less emphasised but equally as effective. It’s sweeping melodies are something reminiscence of Chicane’s “Strong in Love” track released ‘98 and although it is not the best of the two it sure would pack a punch on a normal club night out. The intro takes a while longer to build up and there is a second clear-cut breakdown toward the end of the track, making it an impressive lead up track to the next mix.
Subtle and yet enticing with it’s many layers and soaring synthesiser, both sides hold something that every trance addict wants in their vinyl box. One to make the crowd throw their head back and lap it up!! Review By ALIESHA KING
